Paddy Hill
This case is dealt with at length in "The Birmingham pub-bombs" by Bob Woffinden in his 1987 book Miscarriages of Justice (see Books section). The case has also been the subject of a number of books, most notably 'Forever Lost, Forever Gone' - published in 1995, Paddy Joe Hill's account of his arrest, conviction, imprisonment and appeals - and 'Error of Judgement' by Chris Mullin MP, originally published in 1986. An extract from 'Forever Lost, Forever Gone' - Chapter 13: Welcome to Winson - has been reprinted here. This is Paddy Joe's account of his arrival and reception at Birmingham's Winson Green prison on remand after his arrest. |
